The Many Ways You Can Give—and Make a Difference
Every gift helps Lutheran Sunset Home continue to provide the quality of services that the residents and tenants entrusted to our care so richly deserve. Whether large or small, one-time or recurring, part of a fundraiser or an estate plan, every donation makes a difference and is very much appreciated.

Four Ways to Give
Memorials
Memorials and gifts to honor an individual or an occasion are an excellent way to create a tribute to someone special.
Gifts
There are many ways to give a gift that will benefit the residents and staff of Lutheran Sunset Home. These gifts often provide tax advantages to the donor.
- Outright gifts of cash.
- Stocks and securities that have appreciated in value.
- Personal property, including items ranging from artwork to automobiles.
- Real Estate.
- Life Insurance. Name Lutheran Sunset Home as a beneficiary of all or a portion of a policy.
Founders “152” Club
The original Sunset Founders Club was organized in 1968 as an organization to assist Lutheran Sunset Home in meeting its financial needs. Its major means of securing donations was the “52” Club, which was based on the idea of pledging $1, $2, $4, or more per week for 52 weeks. The “52” Club and the Sunset Founders banquets were major fundraising activities from 1968 to 1988 (when it became inactive).
To honor the dedicated original “Sunset Founders,” Lutheran Sunset Home established the Founders “152” Club in 2015. It is open to anyone who gives a minimum of $152 in a calendar year. This includes cash gifts, memorials, and tributes that are given throughout the year. A plaque recognizing all members of the “152” Club will be updated on an annual basis.
Tree of Giving
The Tree of Giving, located by the business office, acknowledges all those who have given $1,000 or more to Lutheran Sunset Home since 1989. This date was chosen because it’s the year the Chapel, office area, and the first eight apartments of Leisure Estates, our assisted living facility (which now has 26 apartments), were constructed.
The categories of giving are:
Copper Leaf – $1,000-$9,999
Silver Leaf – $10,000-$24,999
Gold Leaf – $25,000-$49,999
Acorn – $50,000-$99,999
Stone – $100,000 plusThere are many names on the Tree of Giving, and we would be honored to add yours.
